4.24 million single mothers live below the poverty line compared to 404,000 single fathers. 30% of homeless women have documented mental health issues, and 50% struggle with substance abuse. Only 39% of single moms receive child support from their children’s fathers. Women and families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population, with 34% of the total homeless population is composed of families. 85% of homeless families are headed by single women.
Our targeted clients are at-risk mothers between the ages 18-55 with a GED or higher, with two or fewer children, ages 5-12. These mothers lack support, have limited access to education or to opportunities. Most mothers have mental health or an addiction history, with a high level of toxicity in their lives and are deficient in business skills.
